Bereavement Support Education Programme Sept – Dec 2024 (s)
Aim:
The Bereavement Support Education Programme (BSEP) is a twelve-week course developed and designed over twenty years by the Social Work Department in Milford Care Centre. The course aims to offer insight and awareness into the issues and dynamics of grief and loss from death. This is done by exploring different aspects and types of bereavement. It provides information and education about bereavement in various circumstances.
The course uses a combination of teaching methods and presentations including group work, lectures and personal exercises. A self-development weekend during the programme allows people to examine their own private grief journey in a safe and confidential environment and is a necessary component of the course.
This course will appeal to a wide variety of people in their private and professional lives; teachers, nurses, carers, clergy and pastoral ministers, counsellors, social workers and those who have informal contact with and concern for the bereaved.
Note: We do not accept applicants within 2 years of a significant loss.
Accreditation/CPD: A certificate of attendance will be provided. 24 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) approved by An Bord Altranais agus Cnáimhseachais na hÉireann (The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland). This BSEP programme has received endorsement for CPD activity by the Irish Association of Social Workers.
This classroom-based course commences on the Wednesday 18th September, in the Education Department, Milford Care Centre for a total of 12 weeks and includes a non-residential personal development weekend.
Time: 7-9pm
Eligible to attend: Open to all who have contact with and concern for the bereaved.
