Aim:
This first part of this course is designed to provide Registered Nurses with an overview of the best practice when documenting in clinical practice, ensuring a high standard of professional conduct amongst nurses and considers issues that arise.
The second part of the programme reviews the guiding principles of medication management
After attending this course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the guiding principles by An Bord Altranais agus Cnaimhseachais na hEireann in relation to recording clinical practice and medication management and how they apply to the scope of their practice
- Be able to apply these principles safely, effectively and ethically in their working environment
- Understand and appreciate the professional and legal issues regarding compilation and management of documentation- the Do’s and Don’ts and the relevant statues and legislation regarding medication management
- Review some of the documentation systems currently in use e.g. care plans, care pathways etc.
