ART THERAPY

WHAT IS ART THERAPY?

Creating art is often a nonverbal process that expands the way in which a person can convey ideas and emotions. Many people discover they can communicate in a way that doesn’t depend on words alone. Art therapy provides an opportunity to explore, understand, and resolve issues in a person’s life that he or she may not feel comfortable talking about or that they may not be able to verbally communicate.  This can be particularly helpful to those processing current health issues or end of life concerns. Art Therapy is an evidence-based practice within specialist palliative care and your Art Therapists are trained to Masters level. As part of a holistic care service, it has proven to be particularly helpful to address the total pain needs of patients, including the psychological, social, physical and spiritual aspects of a patients journey.
