Clinical staff who are using PCOC daily at services (new or existing)
Time: 09.30 – 16.30
Location: Seminar Room, Education Department, Milford Care Centre
Aim: The aim of this workshop is to enhance the knowledge of the five Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration (PCOC) assessment tools and the PCOC assessment and response framework.
Through using practical examples on how to use PCOC in practice and the use of case studies the participant will gain confidence in using PCOC daily in their setting of care.
On completion the attendees will achieve an understanding of the following:
- The five clinical assessment tools and why PCOC is important
- Key Resource Documents
- Orientation to Dashboards for benchmarking
- Orientation to palCentre
- How to assess symptoms using Symptom Assessment Scores (SAS) and Problem Severity Scores (PSS)
- How to utilise Palliative Care Phase
- How to assess function and performance using RUG-ADL and AKPS
- How to utilise PCOC in their area of work
- How to respond to PCOC scores
- Case studies to apply the assessment and response framework
- PCOC Quality improvement tools
Accreditation/CPD
5 CPD hours awarded in accordance with NMBI guidance.
